ABSTRACT
D P Hand Fibre optics are a particularly attractive means of high-power laser beam delivery, offering the highest degree of flexibility and, hence, full directional control of light, coupled with transmission over long distances if required (hundreds of metres). If integrated into suitable robots and positioning systems, they provide multi-axis processing (important for complex workpieces) and remote working capabilities and allow one laser to be easily time-shared between many different workstations.
