ABSTRACT

In the old days, corporate officers used a battery-powered calculator to tally capacity data. The process was too slow to make timely decisions and often contained errors. Today, these officers use Web access tools to automate nearly the same process in much less time, allowing the system to check for errors they might enter via the keyboard. These tools provide these users with a choice of simple actions (retrieving, updating, and other record operations). With additional training, these users can learn more complex actions, such as data analysis, that would help them predict performance problems.
