ABSTRACT

IT automation is the application of computers, software, and other technical components to define and maintain standard IT processes, with the end result being a more efficient and productive IT enterprise. IT automation systems are typically used by enterprises to help IT users and managers better plan, organize, and execute the IT plan. These systems often allow users to analyze sales trends, schedule account calls, process end-user requests, communicate via electronic mail, keep track of end-user and software and hardware product lists, generate price quotes, and plan end-user IT objectives, among many other IT applications. IT automation systems often incorporate portable notebook or handheld computers, remote database synchronization, and highly specialized software. To date, thousands of IT enterprises worldwide have implemented some form of IT automation.
