ABSTRACT

Users are starting to expect error-free network connectivity with guaranteed uptime and response time. Users are also expecting that network services are delivered regardless of the underlying technology. Business end users also expect that data transmission will be secure. This increase in reliance on client/server applications as a fundamental part of conducting business means that end users need to rely on the network as much as the phone. Thus, whether the IT department is ready or not, the network is expected to be as reliable as the phone system.
