ABSTRACT
Seed priming starts the germination process. Seed are soaked in water or a water solution for a specific time, so that seed moisture is increased to levels where the chemical and physiological activities of germination occur. High moisture and ideal temperature conditions are required. Seed moisture is increased to a level just below that needed for actual germination, at just enough to carry out the initial processes.
