ABSTRACT
Model validation is understood to be the procedure of establishing whether a set of experimental data is compatible with given signal and plant uncertainty models, W and G. It is not the (futile) attempt to show that an uncertainty model can always explain the true plant’s input/output behavior-future experiments might well provide data that are inconsistent with W and G.
