ABSTRACT
To conclude this introductory chapter, we want to mention the main organizations involved in hydrological activities on a world scale as well as in Europe, and in particular, Switzerland. Although there are a number of international organizations engaged in water management activities, we will first discuss the various organizations connected to the United Nations (UN). Then we will discuss some of the major research organizations, and close with a discussion of the role of non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
