ABSTRACT

Adaptive radiation therapy is a technology that adjusts treatments according to geometric and biological variations during the course of treatment. As described in Chapters 2 and 3, such adaptation may be needed due to target movements during treatment delivery or anatomic variations between planning and delivery and among daily treatments as revealed by real-time measurements or daily imaging. Ÿe planning for the adjustments or adaptations was described in Section I of this book. Ÿis chapter summarizes di¢erent treatment delivery techniques with a focus on the delivery of intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT).
