ABSTRACT

Cancer in the central nervous system consists of primary tumors (e.g., gliomas, meningiomas) and metastatic tumors from various sources throughout the body. Such metastases may manifest in the brain or invade the spinal canal. Treatment may be curative or palliative, with local control of metastases having the potential to signi£cantly impact quality of life for certain patients. Gliomas have proven especially challenging, with very low long-term local control and survival rates from conventional therapies.
