ABSTRACT
The laboratory testing program had to take into account various mining methods, including roadheader specific tests performed at the rock testing laboratory of Sandvik, Zeltweg, Austria. Test results on two samples indicate high to very high strength, very low toughness, very low to low plasticity, low to average elasticity, and high fracture energy.
