ABSTRACT

The present work intends to develop a management strategy of fixed algae in open-channel networks using flushing-flows. The processes of fixed algae detachment in response to a flush are investigated in semi-real conditions on an experimental set-up. Then, a model is proposed to simulate the fixed algae detachment and the drift algae transport during a flush. Finally, flushes are conducted on two study sites located in the French Mediterranean region. The model simulates the flushes and provides interesting outputs to improve their design and management.
