ABSTRACT
Most of the work to date has focussed on the two-dimensional/plane strain simplification of the above problem to that of a strip foundation parallel to the strike of the fault rupture. However, it is more likely that the foundation will be one of many in group (either on a single building or a group of buildings with raft foundations), and the strike of the fault is unlikely to coincide directly with the long dimension of a foundation.
