ABSTRACT

The static load-settlement tests were performed under a centrifugal acceleration of 30 g to investigate the settlements and the distributions of both the original and improved sandy ground.

Figure 1 shows the experimental device. A static load was applied using a water self-weight through a silicon rubber membrane (dimensions: 20 cm × 20 cm). Since the rigid soil container could support the weight of other loading systems, only the water and membrane weight were applied to the model ground.
