ABSTRACT
The behaviour of the soft organic soils has to be taken into account and should be carefully investigated to arrive at a suitable design of the ground improvement. There is less literature about organic soil behaviour compared to other typical sediments due to the wide variability of the composition and occurrence of that kind of soils. The compression and consolidation behaviour and the creep effects are of special interest when investigating organic soils.
