ABSTRACT

In order to comprehensively understand the failure mechanism of reactivated landslide during an earthquake event, two cases of dynamic centrifuge model tests and numerical analyses were carried out in this study for the verification of earthquake triggered slope failure mechanisms. In the centrifuge model tests, unsaturated and saturated ground conditions of the model slopes were tested to investigate the effect of the excess pore water pressure on the deformation of the slope during earthquake. The test results were also simulated by using dynamic numerical analysis based on effective stress constitutive model. This paper presents the detailed conditions and results of the centrifuge model tests together with the numerical analyses.
