ABSTRACT

This requirement has triggered the development of an innovative new data acquisition system. This paper summarises the design of this new system and presents results that validate the performance. The key features of the system are (i) a sampling rate of up to 1 MHz, (ii) a PC-free acquisition system, minimising the hardware and power supply required onboard the centrifuge, (iii) wireless transmission between the centrifuge and the control command room and (iv) a versatile control interface allowing the operating parameters to be tailored for each particular kind of test. The system is entirely contained within a box of dimensions 150 mm × 60 mm × 40 mm.
