Mobile tray for simulation of 3D load transfer in pile-supported earth platforms

Measurement of the force at the top of several stiff piles is performed during the controlled downward displacement of the tray, for the evaluation of the composite foundation efficiency.

This centrifuge device has a 3D geometry, which is rare (Ellis & Aslam 2009, Baudouin et al. 2010). It completes traditional 2D approaches (e.g. Barchard 2002, Van Ekelen et al. 2003) used previously.
