It is important to establish a method that shows that the required quality of installation is achieved as well as the performance of the anchorage. The GRANIT system is one possible option.
2.1 The GRANIT system
GRANIT operates by applying a single axial impulse load of low magnitude at the head of the anchorage, using a purpose-built pneumatic impact device, which is attached to the protruding length of the anchorage, as shown in Figure 1. The resulting vibration response is measured by an accelerometer attached to the surface of the impact device and then transferred to a field computer through the data acquisition system for further processing.
