ABSTRACT
The tests were carried out at the “Schofield Centre” of the University of Cambridge, equipped with a large beam centrifuge called the Turner Beam Centrifuge. A dynamic earthquake actuator (Stored Angular Momentum-SAM, Madabhushi et al. 1998), and a special box (Laminar box), which allowed horizontal displacements during the dynamic phase, are also available at the Schofield Centre.
