ABSTRACT
Municipal solid wastes management becomes today a major environmental, economical and social concern. Municipalities are forced by the legislation to follow a minimization of wastes. Recycling and recovery of materials and energy is encouraged so as to safeguard natural resources and obviate wasteful use of land (EEC 1999). Nevertheless waste volume is growing faster than the world’s population (Salem et al. 2007, Renou et al. 2008).
