ABSTRACT

The present analysis is aimed at studying the adsorption capacity of available cost-effective sorbents, rich in organic matter, for removal of metalcomplex dyes (Acid Blue 193 and Acid Black 194) from synthetic wastewater using a batch method. The adsorbents investigated were brown coal, compost and two low-moor peats from the overburden of brown coal deposits. Linear and non-linear regressions were used to estimate the Freundlich and Langmuir coefficients and the best-fit of the theoretical isotherms to experimental data.
