ABSTRACT
Various processes have been developed to remove petroleum hydrocarbons from contaminated areas. Soil treatment technologies may be classified as physical, chemical or biological. However, it should be noted that in many cases it is advantageous to use a combination of different techniques (Bhandari et al. 2007, Hester & Harrison 1997, Huang et al. 2005, Nyer 1998, Scullion 2006, Stegmann et al. 2001, Wise et al. 2000, Zhou et al. 2005).
