ABSTRACT

Severalcalorimetricmethodscanbeusedforthecharacterizationofadsorbentsurfacesandofadsorptionphenomena.Thetextureofsolids,thatisto saytheextentofsurfaceareaandporesizedistribution,canbecharacterizedbythermoporometryandimmersioncalorimetry.Anadvantageofthe calorimetricapproachovermorestandardmethodsliesinthepossibilityto characterizeamorerealisticsurfaceareainthecaseofmicroporoussolids. Theprobingofthechemicalnatureofsurfacecanalsobeattainedbyimmersion calorimetry and by adsorption calorimetry.
