ABSTRACT

In order to lead in a competitive and dynamic market, a company has to be prepared to face the challenges of the globalized world. It must combine the production of innovating strategies, such as intensive investment in science and technology, while counting on the learning capacity of its workforce. ˜ese new demands, in their turn, imply the development of new forms of education for the workforce. Instead of rigid professionals who are just competent at their jobs, ³exible professionals must be able to succeed in the face of technological changes arising from the dynamics of contemporary scienti¥c-technological production. Perhaps the most important of these is the changing axis in the relationship between work and education.
