ABSTRACT

Introduction Researching the history of life care planning brings many authors to the conclusion that it had its earliest roots in the 1981 publications, Damages in Tort Actions, Deutsch, PM, Ra•a, FA, Mathew Bender. In fact, a great deal of research and applied e•ort went into the development of life care planning, its tenets, and methodologies in the six plus years that preceded that publication. As a result, life care planning is now entering its 35th year of evolution and fast closing in on its fourth decade of development. Young compared to both medicine and psychology, but old enough to face some serious decisions by its practitioners if the evolutionary process is to continue.
