ABSTRACT
There exists a tremendous and ever growing amount of digital music files in today’s music collections, both in private and commercial repositories. This trend has been caused by various developments in the past two decades. Some of them were new audio compression techniques, high-speed Internet access, cheap storage devices, and novel channels for digital music distribution.
