ABSTRACT
In Denmark, groundwater is considered to be a natural and valuable resource. A number of protection measures are continuously carried out, as well as water quality monitoring in different networks. Some years ago the entire country was divided into areas with different drinking water interests. All areas with special drinking water interests have successfully been divided into a number of focus areas for which action plans are developed based on the Water Supply Act.
