ABSTRACT
Nanotechnology is considered one of the key technologies of the future, and scientists have high expectations from it. According to the National Nanotechnology Initiative, nanotechnology is defi ned as the use of structures of nanometer size for the construction of materials, devices or systems with novel or signifi cantly improved properties, whereas, at this size, atoms and molecules work differently and provide a variety of surprising and interesting uses. Nanotechnology not only produces small structures, it can also allow for inexpensive control of the structure of matter, which is benefi cial for the environment and healthcare, and for the manufacture of hundreds of commercial products. Because of their huge economic potential, nanomaterials have attracted not only scientists and researchers but also businesses.
