ABSTRACT
In many ways, the trends, evolutions, and possibilities discussed in this book were a partial reality as the text went to print. Emerging social, cultural, and economic trends have already begun to manifest themselves. Technology trends are in early consumer release or being developed by researchers around the globe. ‚ere are niches and pockets within policing that are already doing a commendable job recognizing and seeking to capitalize on these opportunities, while seeking to mitigate the harm of associated challenges. What this text seeks to encourage is the expansion of such positive e˜orts within the policing profession and within the practices of contemporary and future police managers.
