ABSTRACT
Recently, there has been an increasing interest in equipment design as a causal factor in occupational accidents that occur during operational use or maintenance. Inevitably, this has lead to greater demands on designers to address safety needs during the design process. Common name for this paradigm is Prevention through Design (PtD) or Safe Design.
