ABSTRACT

Increasingly, medical devices are being used by lay people outside the clinical environment (FDA, 2010). Gossink & Souquet (2006) argue that, the e-health and personal healthcare is one of the major trends in healthcare technology. They also note that conventional interactions with patients are changing, and today patients take more responsibility of their own health. As a result, “many patients today seek to play an active role in prevention andmedical treatment” (Klatzky&Ayoub, 1995). This emerging trend requires better understanding of user-product interactions.
