ABSTRACT
The fact that the systematic observations of hydrometeorological data in Kulevi zone were stopped in 1991 and all the data was taken from Georgia away, the taking into force of Black Sea Terminal in Port of Kulevi caused the necessity of constant monitoring of meteorological characteristics with the aim of safety navigation provision. The analysis of hydrometeorological characteristics shows that the main factor, which influences upon the level of safety of navigation in water area of Port of Kulevi is heavy sea. The analysis of wave conditions was conducted for the provision of the necessary level of safety of navigation as well as the provision of effective and safe maintenance of hydrotechnical constructions. The automatical meteorological station which is a part of Port of Kulevi VTS equipment gave possibility of every day (per each 30 minutes) keeping of the wind condition (direction, speed, maximal and minimal indicators). The complex of measures of Port of Kulevi water area protection was worked out on the basis of that analysis.
