ABSTRACT
Lateral forces are transmitted into the SC-CBF through lateral-load bearings that develop friction forces that help resist uplift of the SC-CBF columns. Previous research (Roke et al., 2010) studied the performance of a four-story SC-CBF with a coefficient of friction of 0.45 at the lateral-load bearings.
