ABSTRACT
Conventional welded beam-to-column connections as shown in Figure 1(a) are a simple way to construct rigid connections. However, welding requires a certain amount of skill of the welder to insure sufficient seismic performance. Any lack may result in poor performance due to excessive heat input and welding defects.
