ABSTRACT
Due to the fact that the weight of the stored merchandize is usually substantially higher than the self-weight of the rack structure, random rack loading patterns may lead to mass eccentricities larger than the 5% accidental design mass eccentricity predicted by some building codes like for instance the Eurocode 8 (CEN 2005b).
