ABSTRACT
If this model is employed to describe the growth of the rural population, the saturation value of the urbanization ratio will be less than 1, which tallies with the actual situation better. However, this model gives rise to two problems. First, the model cannot avoid multicollinearity, which could be detected from the VIF value in Table A2. Second, based on the model, the total population will not converge but increase infi nitely.
