ABSTRACT
POLYSACCHARIDE BIOSYNTHESIS IN PLANTSEnzymes catalyzing more than one reaction are often iteratively acting enzymes. They are overspread in nature and can be found in nearly all organisms. Surprisingly, iterative GTs are difficult to distinguish from monofunctional GTs by comparing the amino acid sequence, and very recently, scientists have started to investigate the function of this important class of enzymes in detail.
