ABSTRACT
I was confused by the sexes of the individuals mentioned in David’s letter. (Later I found out that Siva is androgynous.) Poking around in the Marriott Library of the university, which I found remarkably good, I turned up a slightly more elaborate version from the Kumarasambhava of Halides entitled Siva and Parvati. I went through it as I used to go through Grimm’s Fairy Tales and in my mind I gave it the subtitle How the Sun Married the Moon. Here is the way I fi gured my way through what was a very complicated situation.
