ABSTRACT
A large variety of optical modulators has been invented, researched, and developed over the last 40 years. ™is research is still very active, and at present, there are many papers published every year describing new designs and new advances in existing modulators. On the other hand, only two modulator designs are presently used in large numbers in the ˜ber-optic communication market.
