ABSTRACT

The diagnosis of the condition of a structure is a fundamental part of the maintenance of buildings. In aggressive environments reinforced concrete structures may suffer from reinforcement corrosion. Chloride induced corrosion is typically observed at structures in maritime environments or for transport facilities (e.g., bridges, car parks). Depending on the exposition, this type of corrosion occurs typically in local spots. The localisation of these critical areas allows a targeted and economic repair of the structure.
