ABSTRACT
CV involvement in RA can now be considered an extra-articular disease manifestation, as well as rheumatoid nodules, lung interstitial disease, ocular involvement or peripheral mononeuritis. Indeed, it is widely documented that RA patients experience a signifi cant increased mortality and morbidity with respect to the general population, mainly due to an enhanced risk of fatal and non-fatal MI and other manifestations of IHD, including HF (Gerli and Goodson 2005a, Shoenfeld et al. 2005, Nurmohamed 2009, Sarzi-Puttini et al. 2010).
