ABSTRACT

The purpose and scope of the present paper is to provide tools to forecast future reaction and behaviour of hydrological systems in response to climate changes, base level changes and anthropogenic activity. Coastal aquifers, connected to the seas or to endorheic lakes and inland seas were in the past, as well as presently, affected by their level variations as a result of climate changes. Examples of such variations in the past from all over the world are summarized by Kafri and Yechieli (2010). The present review summarizes our recent studies that were conducted in the last fi ve years, such as by Kiro et al. (2008), Yechieli et al. (2009a,b) and Yechieli et al. (2010).
