ABSTRACT

Real-time systems must satisfy not only functional requirements but also temporal requirements. That is, certain computations would be considered incorrect if they could not be completed by some given deadlines. Computationally demanding real-time systems are often implemented with multiprocessor systems (or multiprocessors-on-chip [SoCs]). Such systems have wide applications, e.g., in aviation, automobile, and personal electronic industries [23]. Saving energy in such systems is highly desirable due to its impact on cost, weight, reliability, etc.
