ABSTRACT
Ants are eusocial organisms; that is, they adopt an advanced level of colonial structure in which adult individuals belonging to two or more generations contribute to the maintenance of the colonies and in the offspring care, and female individuals can be reproductive or sterile (Wilson and Hölldobler 2005b).
