Social TV was named one of the 10 most important emerging technologies in 2010 by the MIT Technology Review. This general term covers many areas, including the integration of voice and chat capabilities into television sets, TV recommendations, video conferencing, etc. From a social network perspective, Social TV is concerned with mining information related to TV programs from social media and integrating the results into TV services.
