ABSTRACT

Fire scenes are one of the most complex and di”cult scenes to work. e di”culties of the re scene lie in the conditions found at the scene and the di”culty in objectively evaluating re signs in an e®ort to understand re §ow and origin. Scene conditions include the re damage itself, the resulting creation of unstable structures, the presence of signicant debris covering evidence, and the fact that burned surfaces are black and do not re§ect light e®ectively.
