ABSTRACT

Mendelian genetics has been useful for elucidating qualitative trait variation in Musa (Ortiz 2000). Likewise, biometrical approaches have facilitated the understanding of host plant resistance genetics to pathogens and pests affecting crop yield, or attributing to ploidy or gene action to bunch and fruit traits.
