ABSTRACT

The properties of a multiphase system are signi†cantly affected by its morphology. The lack of thermodynamic interaction between phases results in immiscibility, and an immiscible multiphase system shows diverse morphology depending on the parameters such as composition, interfacial tension, viscoelasticity, shear rate, Žow †eld, and so on (Han, 1981; Utracki, 1990; Sperling, 1997). Because blending of polymers with different characteristics is an economical way of developing new materials, it is important from an industrial point of view to understand the development of morphology
