ABSTRACT
Though mining has severe environmental impact, there is no way to avoid it. Wisdom lies in designing ways and means of carrying on mining with minimal adverse impact. The following control technologies are available to minimize the environmental impact of mining: AcidMineDrainage, Tailings Disposal, Dust Control, Low-waste Technologies, Treatment of wastewater, Subsidence, Noise and Vibration, and Mine Closure.
