ABSTRACT

Groundwater contaminant transport S-O applications range widely. They address natural and anthropogenic nonpoint and point source contamination. To date, most deal with developing optimal remedial designs to contain or cleanup groundwater contamination. Common Contaminants of Concern (CoCs) are hydrocarbons, synthetic organic chemicals, inorganic cations and ions, pathogens, and radionuclides. Groundwater remediation technologies are biologically (e.g., bioremediation), physically (pump-andtreat), or chemically (e.g., ion exchange) based, or a combination of two or more of these.
